Assistant Comptroller-
General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Alhaji Mohammed Dangoggo-Argungun,  says the ongoing immigration e-recruitment in Kaduna centre has screened over 9,000 applicants.
Argungun, who is also the overall supervisor of Presidential Committee for the ongoing e-recruitment, stated this in an interview with newsmen shortly after inspecting the exercise at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria on Friday.
“We know the number of people we are screening as far as Kaduna centre is concerned, this is the fifth day because we  started the exercise on Monday in six centres across Nigeria, Kaduna inclusive.
“We take 1,800 persons per day for the period of five days here in Kaduna centre, so multiply the number by five it will give you the figure of applicants screened so far,” he noted.
On measures to avert any ugly development, the ACG assured that thorough homework was being done by the presidential committee to avoid the recurrence of the sad development which led to death of many people in the previous recruitment exercise.
“From all the centres designated for this purpose, we do not have such incidence and we are not expecting to have any, everything is going on smoothly.”
The Comptroller, Kaduna State Mr Nuhu Apang-Takum, expressed satisfaction with the way the applicants conducted themselves during the examination.
“Each of the shortlisted candidates is given a date on which to come for his or her own e-exams. Before reaching here they must have followed some screening protocols.
“As they are now queuing, when they get in, we have officers all over who will screen them against any IED to make sure that they are not potential threat.
“After that, they will proceed to the next stage where they are bio captured, accredited online to confirm that they are the real applicants that were shortlisted and they will then present all the necessary documents.
“From there they will move to examination hall, every applicant is given his or her own time and they log-in their password, the system opens and they generate the questions and continue and it is exactly one hour for each applicant,” he noted.
