INEC Begins Tour Of Rivers LGAs

In its bid to have free and
fair elections in Rivers State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will today, commence a sensitization tour of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area.
In a statement by the INEC, electoral officer, Port Harcourt, Mr. Mba Onyemaeze, the state Electoral Commissioner, Dame Gisele Khan will met with stakeholders and opinion leaders in the local government to interact and sensitise the people for a better and credible election this month.
The statement solicited the support of all the political parties and stakeholders in conducting free, fair and acceptable elections, adding that the commission will continue to partner with all stakeholders for a better democracy in the country. INEC said it would be happy to have everybody in attendance get their contributions, which will form the basis of discussion for free and fair elections in the state.
The commission assured that the interactive and meeting would not only create awareness for the people, but would also help promote the efforts of the commission in ensuring credible election later this month and April 11, 2015.
