Baseball, Softball Set For U-12 Tournament

The newly elected
Chairman of Rivers State Baseball and Softball Association (RSBSA), Christian Dic-Willie has said that his administration would focus on grassroots development of the game.
Dic-Willie said this in his acceptance speech, shortly after he was elected as the Chairman of the association, on Tuesday in Port Harcourt.
According to him, he is particularly interested in catching them young.
“My administration will focus on grassroots development, we will ensure that coaches go to schools and local government areas to train young athletes”, Dic-Willie said.
He revealed that he would sponsor national and state Under 12 baseball and softball competition immediately after the elections in April this year, that would be held in Port Harcourt.
“To enable the sports become popular, I will sponsor national and state Under 12 tournaments, immediately after the elections this year.
We will ensure that we re-brand and make the game popular like football in this country. Afterall football is not the most profitable sport in the world”, he stated.
