The Paramount Ruler of
Akpor Kingdom in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Eze Orlu Oriebe has warned against voting for another Ikwerre man to succeed Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State.
The monarch described such move as capable of threatening the unity that currently exists among the various ethnic nationalities in the state.
Governor Amaechi is an Ikwerre man from the same ethnic nationality where the governorship candidate of teh Peoples Democratic Party Chief Nyeson Wike hails from.
Eze Oriebe gave the warning last Friday, when the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Dakuku Peterside and his campaign team visited the monarch at his palace in Ozuoba during the party’s governorship campaign rally in Obio /Akpor Local Government Area of the State.
Eze Oriebe called on the people of the Kingdom to vote for the APC governorship candidate, as the next governor of the state, insisting that he is not in support of another Ikwerre man to succeed Governor Amaechi.
He noted that the Ikwerre governorship in this month’s election would destabilize the state, and make people to look at Ikwerre  ethnic nationality as greedy and selfish people.
Eze Oriebe assured Dr Peterside of a clear victory in the election, urging him to be steadfast in God, as well as focus on issues that touch the peoples lives.
Peterside had earlier promised to create employment opportunities for the youths in the kingdom, as well as given them scholarships.
