Rivers FRSC Honours 40 Officers, Stakeholders For Contributions
In line with the Federal
Road Safety Corps, (FRSC) established Appreciation and Reward System, the Rivers State Sector Command of the Corps has given merit awards and certificates of recognition to 40 officers and Institutions for their contribution and effective performance to the uplift of the command.
Speaking at the end-of-year party and awards night held at the Sector Command’s Conference Hall, Port Harcourt on Friday, the Sector Commander, Sunday Ogherekaro expressed appreciation to the stakeholders and those of his colleagues in the uniformed services for their support which had added value and enabled the level of performance recorded. Oghenekaro said the uniquie contributions of the special brands, the special Marshals who are part of the corps that provides volunteer services as it relates to authority and power of enforcement are worthy of reward, pointing out that it is in fulfilment of the corps objectives of rewards for excellence and sanction for decadence and breaches.
According to him, in line with best practices, the command had set aside the day to allow the regulars and volunteers savour the benefit of due diligence, having successfully executed the End of Year Special Patrol operations and all other road safety responsibilities with outstanding results.
He noted that the award night would afford opportunity for the ever ready stakeholders and friendly forces especially the uniformed services in the state to share experiences of 2014 informally with an eye for plan of action for 2015 and expressed confidence that the award would spur them towards greater commitment and performance both is serve the corporate interest of the corps in the promotion of road safety values especially in practical compliance to traffic rules and regulations.
