The Head Coach, Enugu
State Boxing Association, Blaise Ude  on Thursday expressed dismay over the failure of the Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF) to organise the 2014 National Boxing Championship.
Ude told newsmen that boxers in the country had always looked forward to the annual championship, and were disappointed at the failure of the federation to hold it.
“It is not in the best interest of our sport to deny boxers their yearly activity, which helps to hone their skill and expose them.
“Boxers in the country for some time now always test their prowess at the championship, but with the event not holding it could discourage them,” the coach said.
He said that federation owed the boxers the duty of organising competitions regularly, to help develop their skills so as to be on top of their game.
Ude noted with regret that the federation was yet to invite athletes for the event which usually holds in November.
