… Set To Train Officers On ICT

As the Information
and Communication Technology (ICT) system continues to gain  fast entrance  into  all sectors of the economy, the Nigeria Customs Service  (NCS) says it would ensure  that its  officers  and men benefit  from the  package.
To that end, the outfit has revealed that a  total  of 105 officers have been nominated  for computer application  and common external, tariff  trainings.
The Assistant Comptroler-General, NCS, Mrs I.O Okoli  stated this recently in a  TV programme monitored  in Port Harcourt.
She said the trainings would commence next  month  with officers in Abuja  and Port Harcourt the Rivers State capital.
Okoli, noted that the  officers of the approved  participants for the training would settle for ICT foundation  computer application.
According to her, the exercise  would be held at its command and staff college  Gwagwalada in the  Federal capital territory.
She further hinted that the other 30 Batch Two Officers would have their  turn at the   Giz: ECOWAS capacity building on common external (CET) slated for zone c, in Port Harcourt in September 2014.
The NCS boss, stressed that the  training was important to all concerned  persons,  following the global quest for ICT knowledge.
She charged  the officers to put in their best for the  exercise, adding that the  programme would upgrade their capacity towards  contributing  positively to the growth of the country’s economy.
Though, no specific  date in September has been fixed  for the ICT training, but pudits are of the view that it would not exceed the   third week  of next month.
