SSS Rescues Kidnap Victim In Nnewi …As Gunmen Abduct Woman In Aba

Operatives of the De
partment of State Service have rescued Mr. Pius Maduka, the elder brother of owner of Coscharis Nigeria Ltd, Cosmas Maduka.
Pius, who was kidnapped nine days ago in Nnewi in Anambra State, was rescued in Orlu in Imo State.
His abductors were said to have demanded and collected N15 million, but refused to release him.
Thereafter, they demanded another N28 million, saying the amount was for the release of Pius and his wife, who was not kidnapped but whom the kidnappers had mistaken for another woman in captivity.
It was gathered that the SSS operatives stormed the hideout of the kidnappers, rescued Pius and killed one of the kidnappers and arrested four others.
Meanwhile, gunmen believed to be kidnappers, Sunday night, abducted a woman in the commercial city of Aba, Abia State, as she was riding in her ash-coloured Toyota Camry car.
Although, information about the kidnap of the woman, whose name was given as Nkechi Ogbuka, was stetchey at press time, she was said to have been abducted along Aba/Owerri road at about 8:45pm.
It was gathered that the hoodlums accosted the lady as she was along the ever busy road and ordered her out at gun point.
The criminals then look her to their hideout from where they had reportedly demanded an undisclosed amount as ransom.
When contacted, Abia State Command Police Public Relations Officeer, PPRO, Goeoffery Ogbonna, said he had not received any official report on the accident.
