A Deputy Director at
the National Sports Commission (NSC) and other football fans have expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Super Eagles at the ongoing 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The match ended which ended 3-2 in favour of the Argentines.
In his comments, Mr Stanley Okebugwu of the NSC, called for a strong bond in the team’s ranks, stressing that unity of purpose was critical to success in the knockout stages.
He urged the team to improve on their game as they no longer had the privilege of relying on the outcome of other matches to progress.
“We are happy they did well to qualify; but now, their fate is in their hands, so they must be united and work hard.
“Thank God the Bosnians won their game convincingly and that was good enough for us to go through.’’
In a telephone interview with newsmen in Onitsha, Anambra, Joe Amene, a member of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) said:’ We are happy and we thank God that we have qualified to the Round of 16.
“It might not be easy to say what will happen, since countries that qualified are equally good.
“But I know that Nigerians’ fervent prayers and the Super Eagles fighting spirit will continue to push us ahead just as the African Nations’ Cup episode.’’
Amene lauded the Eagles defence and the goalkeeper for “doing the country proud’’.
