Keshi Demands Respect For Eagles
Nigeria coach
Stephen Keshi has asked Nigerian fans and the media to stop being ‘impatient’ and show respect for their team, rather than write them off.
The Super Eagles coach was aggrieved that the team took a bashing from their own fans after playing out a draw against Iran.
“There was never a time I said that this team was not good. It’s just that Nigerians don’t have patience,” Keshi told Tidesports source.
“They write you off just like that, which is terrible.
“They forget that these kids they have blood in their system, they’re human beings. Everybody can make mistakes.”
Most of the anger over that draw with Iran came down to what was considered a lack of trying from the Super Eagles. But Keshi disputes the claims.
“I will never accept that we didn’t play well in that game. We saw what happened with Iran and Argentina. Does it mean that Argentina is not a good team?
“If not for Messi’s last minute goal it would have been 0-0 just like us. Does that mean that Argentina is bad?
“You people should know how to value your team and give respect.”
