Group Wants Ex-UNIPORT VC In Guber Race

non-governmental organization, Rivers Integrity Group (RIG) has urged the erstwhile Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Prof Don Baridam to contest the 2015 gubernatorial election in Rivers State.
Addressing journalists in Choba, Port Harcourt on Tuesday, the co-ordinator of the group, Dr Solomon Obioha, said the group based his call on the sterling records Prof. Baridam left as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt.
According to him, the former University boss transformed the institution to a greater height during his tenure pointing to the senate building, world class library as well as human development as parts of his achievements in the university.
“He is not a man who abandons project without completing it. He is a professor of high moral standard. He is also a Minister of God, with good education. Professor Baridam possesses all it takes to deliver good governance to the people of the state”, the group said.
Also speaking, the Secretary of the group, Mr Bira Lawrence, described Professor Baridam as a seasoned administrator and an astitute politician who believes in societal reformation.
He, therefore, called an Rivers people to vote for the former vice chancellor whenever he decides to run for the governorship election.
