FRSC Lauds Govt’s Logistics Support
The Federal Road
Safety Commission (FRSC) has commended the Anambra Government for giving four patrol vans and one ambulance to the commission.
The FRSC Anambra Zonal Commander, Mr Charles Akpabio, said in Onitsha that the vehicles would help in the 2nd phase of the Special Intervention Patrol (SIP) and called for more of such support from the public.
He explained that the SIP patrol would cover Onitsha-Oraifite-Ihiala-Mgbidi road axis of the Onitsha-Owerri road as part of the command’s daily patrol of Onitsha-Owerri road.
“I want to commend the Anambra State Government for the support they have given to the Federal Road Safety Corps so far. Recently, we were given four patrol vehicles from Anambra State Government, one ambulance in addition to what we received from them before”, he said.
We may not get enough; but we still need such supports from stakeholders, from the governments, from individuals that can support road safety, from companies.
“Most companies declare huge profits; let them pay back to the society; not giving us motorcycles, not giving us food; but give us equipment that can enhance our operations”, he added.
He said that the four vehicles and one ambulance donated by the Anambra State Government recently had helped in increasing the command’s operational capacity in this state.
Akpabio said the SIP campaign would be all-encompassing involving all motorists, bicycle, motorcycle and tricycle riders.
The Zonal Command covers Anambra, Edo and Delta.
