US-Based Group Drills Boreholes In Aba
A U.S.-based
organisation, says it is drilling boreholes in communities in Aba, Abia, The Relief Network Ministries, to ease the sufferings of the less privileged.
The Community Development Manager of the network, Dr Adeel Patrick, made the disclosure in an interview with newsmen in Aba recently.
Patrick said the network drilled the first borehole in Obokwe in Ukwa-West Local Government Area last week and would drill another in Achara-Agburike Nsulu, Isialangwa North Local Government Area last Monday.
He urged communities within and outside Aba zone to apply for the project to enable them to benefit from the gesture.
The community development manager said the group was ready to provide as many boreholes as the Aba communities would need.
He said the organisation was helping people through provision of social amenities such as water to ease their sufferings in line with the directives of Jesus Christ.
Patrick said all that was required from the people was an application for assistance to receive such help free of charge.
“We are working to provide clean water, health and education to the people who are less privileged.
“We have been working here since 2003, but we have not been partnering with local churches.
He said that although the network was a Christian ministry working with churches, it however, did not discriminate in its assistance “because water is a necessity for everyone’’.
The General Overseer of Evangelical Fellowship Ministries International, Dr Emma Maduike, said his church was cooperating with the network because of its interest in the less privileged in the society.
He said that the network drilled two boreholes for some branches of the church at different locations in 2008.
