Outgoing Police Commissioner Lauds Journalists

The outgoing Commis
sioner of Police in Imo State, Mr Muhammad Katsina, has commended journalists in the state for their support during his tenure.
Speaking at a farewell meeting with journalists in Owerri last Wednesday, Katsina said his work was made easier through the cooperation of the members of the press.
He commended the press for its role in publicising the activities of the police to rid the state of crime during his tenure, adding that he would remember the state with fondness as he was welcomed warmly by the people.
The state chairman of the NUJ, Sir Innocent Igwe, thanked the commissioner for recognising the contributions of the members of the press, stating that journalists would continue to do their work conscientiously as watchdogs of the society.
He commended the commissioner for his efforts during his stay in Imo, noting that crime, especially kidnapping, had reduced in the state.
Igwe also promised that the NUJ would continue its fight against operators of baby factories while wishing him well in his next assignment.
