Yuletide: NSCDC Assures Of Adequate Security
The Enugu State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has deployed 2,500 officers in the state to ensure security of lives and property during Yuletide.
The state corps commandant, Mr Nathaniel Ubong, made the disclosure at a news briefing in Enugu.
He said the agency had mapped out strategies and deployed 2,500 officers to the 17 local government areas of the state to ensure a hitch-free festive period.
Ubong said that the NSCDC was concerned about security of lives and property and had resolved to deliver.
“All the corps members are to be at alert; nobody will be travelling. Besides, leave for the staff does not exist at this important period of the year.
“Therefore, the NSCDC is out to ensure that the people experienced hitch-free movement, especially in the Enugu municipal area.
“The four vehicles of the agency have been deployed to ensure there are no hiding places for hoodlums during this Christmas season,” he said.
He also promised to use materials available to the command in the discharge of its duties properly to achieve desirable results on security in the state.
