The Associations Public Relations Officer, Mr Oluwaseyi Gambo, said this to The Tide source in Lagos recently .

He noted that the battle could achieve some positive records if the federal government can introduce a level of diplomacy to the situation.

Gambo, also said that the fight against crude oil theft needed a multi-dimensional approach that will require the efforts of both the federal government and all players in the oil and gas sector.

The PENGASSAN image maker, further suggested a water-fight security system to the oil environment as part of effort to curb oil theft as well as illegal oil bunkering.

According to him, an improved security network, can regulate the imparts on state and local governments who he said depend mainly on federal allocations and disbursements.

He pointed out that the award of pipelines surveillance contracts to some anointed individuals has not redeemed the situation, but had rather, caused more harm in the oil industry.

Gambo, who also called for the discouragement in the demand for stolen petroleum products, advocated for technology driven surveillance system to enable the pipelines to be protected.

Meanwhile, he has charged multinationals operating in the country to invest in updated technology that could bring the issue of pipeline vandalism and other related challenges in the oil sector to a halt.

PENGASSAN, as our reporter gathered, is one of the powerful mouthpiece of the country in the area of oil and gas business and improvement.

Earlier, he had appealed with the federal government to hurry and arrest the situation, as it will serve to address the issue of deficits in the nation’s budget.
