Sports Council’s HOD Urged To Enhance Peace
Head of Department (HOD) coaching, Rivers State Sports Council, Evangelist Ezekiel Ordu, has been told to use his new position as Army chaplain to enhance peace and sanity in the council.
The Zonal Commandant, Bayelsa and Rivers State Eagle Chaplain Corps, Christian Nkuche made the call recently, during the decoration ceremony of Evangelist Ordu, as a captain, Army chaplain corps at the boardroom of the Alfred Diette Spiff Sports Complex, Port Harcourt.
Commandant Nkuche described Eagle chaplain as an arm of the armed forces well respected by the military.
He further challenged him, to ensure that corruption and injustice in the council was tacked adding that his new position gives him right to arrest but not to prosecute.
Responding Ordu pledged to use his position to ensure that peace and unity prevail in the council at all times.
Also speaking senior staff of the council, Mr Christopher Fubara, thanked God for given him the opportunity to witness the event, where one of the Director’s of the council was decorated as an Army chaplain and prayed God to give him the strength to execute his job adequately.
