PH Residents, Joints Ready For Christmas Festivities

Preparations are in top gear to celebrate Christmas on December 25,to mark the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ as almost all the entertainment outfits in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, are assembling their Christmas paraphernalia, plotting and finetuning details to celebrate the Yuletide with a difference.

The Tide Entertainment investigations revealed  that residents of the oil rich city are also warming up to celebrate this festive period fully, not minding the prevailing economic challenges, as they see it as an extension of the celebration of the centenary anniversary celebration of Port Harcourt City and CARNIRIV which have thrown the city into a festive mood in the last few days.

Some of the entertainment joints, clubs and pubs visited are now wearing a new look with colourful decorations and lights to blend with the yuletide. The comedy industry in the state is not left out of the preparations as most of the Port Harcourt based comedians have assured a merry Christmas of laughter and relaxation.

One of such comedy shows lined up for the Christmas celebration in the city is “Crack ya Ribs,” an annual comedy show organized by Rivers State, born comedian Julius “Genius” Agwu slated for December 25th at the Aztech Arcrum event centre, stadium road Port Harcourt.

The event features other comedians such as:190 dye, Seyi Law, Obama, Acapella, Mc Longs, me Jay, Funky 4 Romeo and Rugged Pastor, while the artistes expected to perform at the event include: KCee, Burna Boy and the Ijaw boys.

Other Entertainment hangouts like nite clubs, restaurants, Eateries and hotels are also poised to render best services to their customer”, while street parties are expected to begin from next week in most streets of Port Harcourt as well as neigbhouring towns and villages.

Some of the Amusement parks have also made arrangements for Santa Clause and a collection of existing gifts for children with several other children Christmas parties lined up to entertain the kids and give them a befitting celebration.

It was also gathered that the cinema houses such as Silverbird Cinemas and Genesis Delux Cinemas located at the former Obi Wali Cultural Centre, Abonnema Wharf road and Tombia Street, GRA phase II respectively have also scheduled special movies and programmes to interviewers.

With the way things are going, this year’s celebration promises to be the best in recent times. Although, some of the people interviewed are not enthusiastic about the celebration because of their poor financial status and high cost of living, but most of them are in high spirits as they believe that money or no money, life is worth celebrating and as Christian” Christmas  celebration is a must as it is the Lord’s birthday.
