HIV is an infection which
many people have unfounded fears and prejudices about and this results in stigma and discrimination. This attitude affects status declaration, status assessment and the general uptake of HIV services in health institutions and has also militated against various control measures aimed at reducing prevalence.
In furtherance to the ideals of the administration of the Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi  on partnership and efficiency in health service delivery, the State Ministry of Health has produced a movie titled ‘STIGMA’ as a paradigm collaboration between Nollywood and the health care industry to help sensitise, educate, re-orient, and model societal  attitude towards achieving de-stigmatising behavior. This movie features notable Nollywood artistes and the best special effects in movie technology. The Premiere/debut is scheduled to hold in the Garden City of Port Harcourt and will carry the full compliments of a red-carpet event.
Premiere/debut of the movie titled ‘STIGMA’ which is specially scheduled to commemorate the World AIDS Day celebration in Rivers State is to hold on Sunday, December, 2013 at the Silver Bird cinema, Port Harcourt by 1pm.
