RSG Ends Minimum Wage Arrears Payments
The Rivers State Gov
ernment said the implementation of three months 70 oer cent relativity and six months minimum wage arrears as agreed with labour between November 2012 and August 2013 has ended.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Finance, Rivers State, Hon. Chamberlain. S. Peterside, a copy of which was made available to The Tide in Port Harcourt said the state government has by the action satisfied its obligation to labour and the entire workers of the state civil service as agreed in November 2012.
According to the government, this announcement became necessary in order to inform all affected workers in the spirit of sustaining the cordial relationship that exists between civil servants and Rivers State Government.
“All stakeholders particularly Nigeria Labour Congress and Joint Negotiating Council (JNC) should please note thus development and enlighten their members accordingly,” the statement added.
