Falae Tasks Legislators On Selfless Service
Former Secretary to the
Government of the Federation,Chief Olu Falae, last Tuesday, urged members of the Ondo State House of Assembly to render selfless service to the people.
Falae made the remark in his Oba-ile residence in the state when the lawmakers paid him a condolence visit over the death of his son, Deji in the plane crash in Lagos on Thursday.
The Afenifere chieftain appreciated the lawmakers over the Assembly’s nomination of his deceased son as a two-time commissioner under Governor Olusegun Mimiko’s administration.
“The governor confirmed Deji’s nomination as commissioner on merit and not as a result of my influence.
“My son had impacted many lives positively. Even though he built houses for many people under him, he did not have a block of his own.
“He had done his own best and we cannot question God over his death. Our prayer is for God to allow his gentle soul to rest in perfect peace,” Falae noted.
In a remark, the Deputy Speaker of the House, Mr Dare Emiola, who led other lawmakers to Falae’s house, described Deji’s death as “rude shock and as a great loss to the people of the state.“
Emiola, who also described the incident as “very devastating”, however, prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
He urged the family to take it as an act of God.
