Rivers Angels Current Form Excites Coach
Chief Coach of the Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt Edwin Okon has said that team has proved to be more influential and productive with more professional players in the club.
Okon who said this in an interview with Tidesports added that the presence of more International Players in the team has brought rapid growth and also a challenge to the local based players in the team.
According to him, the team is made up with more professionals than home based players, adding that, there are two Cameroonians and one Ghanaian players that make up the first of 35 players in the team.
“I must say that the team is better than what it used to be with home based players alone. The mixed up of both local and national players in the club has brought a remarkable change”.
Presently, the team is beefed up with players from the Under-17 flamingoes Under-20 Falconets and the Super Falcons.
Speaking on the contribution of Coaches, the Assistant Coach of the Club Whyte Ogbondah, noted that coach have done their best in ensuring that discipline is instill in the team as well as encouraged the players to improve.
“This has contributed to their current form and the team spirit displayed in the team, it has also motivated the a lot in their performance”, he noted.
He said that all sign on fees, match bonus and salaries owned the team have been paid, noting that the team is about the best paid club in the country.
“The team is being paid as at when due, I would say that we are the best right now in the federation interms of payment”, he said.
