Canadian Embassy Denies Sailing Athletes Visa

The hope of Nigeria participating in the international Cana King Championship in Canada has suffered a temporary setback following the denial of visa for Nigerian Athletes participating in the championship.
The President of Nigeria Canoeing Rowing and Sailing Federation Ambassador FBI Porbeni said this in a press release made available to Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
Ambassador Porbeni said that, the Canadian Embassy did not give sufficient reasons for denying Nigeria visa for the event which comes up July 24 in 2013 in Nigeria Canada.
The President who is also the Roman Console General in Nigeria and one time Minister and Ambassador to Equatorial Guinea  said that the federation will continue to press on the embassy for the visa.
Speaking on the preparedness of the team to participate in the championship, Ambassador Porbeni who is the President of the Team Nigeria to the championship said that Nigeria is quite prepared for the event.
According to him, everything possible has been done to ensure victory in Canada, stressing that the team has the support of the Federal Ministry of Sports Development.  Mobile Telecom Giant Globacom, mutual assurance and Dangote.
He expressed the hope that the Canadian Embassy will see reason and grant visa to the contingent.
He used the occasion to thank all those who are behind the federation, assuring that they will not be disappointed.
