Abia NSCDC Outlines Achievements

Nigeria Security and
Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Abia  State has recorded ‘landmark’ achievements in curtailing vandalism of critical infrastructure and other crimes in the State last year.
The NSCDC Commandant in the state, Mr Ben Dikuro, Tuesday in an address he delivered at a forum organised for security stakeholders in Umuahia  said that during the period, the command arrested 35 teenage pregnant girls, four infants, three suspects, including the proprietress of a baby factory at Umuozuo Community in Osisioma Local Government Area.
He said that the command also arrested one suspect in possession of marijuana weighing 10.03kg  and a suspected vandal of cable /transformer belonging to Power Holding Company of Nigeria.
The commandant said the command was faced with many challenges, including the lack of vehicles and other logistics, to discharge its duties.
Dikuro stressed the need for the public, especially community leaders, to partner with officials of NSCDC and other security outfits, by providing them information on the activities of criminals.
In a goodwill message, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Alhaji Tilli Abubakar, commended the leadership of Abia NSCDC for organising the event.
