Police Nab Robbery Kingpin In Nsukka

A notorious armed robbery and kidnap suspect, Attabo James, has been nabbed by operatives of the Nsukka Division of the Enugu state Police command.

The command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ebere Amaraizu (DSP), in a statement made available to newsmen in Enugu, sated that the  suspect had been on the wanted list of the operatives over his alleged  nefarious activities within Nsukka and its environs.

Attabo James was allegedly nabbed on May 10, this year, by operatives of the Division, who were on patrol along Nsukka -Okutu road in Nsukka where he was sited and consequently apprehended. 

According to the PPRO, the suspect is now helping the police in their investigation concerning his alleged involvement in armed robbery and kidnapping perpetrated within Nsukka and its environs for a long time before his recent arrest.

 The command’s image maker further disclosed that the suspect has already confessed that he hails from Odolu in Kogi State.

 In a reaction, the state Commissioner of Police Abubakar Adamu Mohammed, lauded the officers of the command for their gallantry, assuring that he would stop at nothing in ensuring that the entire state is sanitised.

 He, therefore, called on all relevant stakeholders in the business of security and members of the public to always support the police with useful and timely information for effective performance, reasoning that, “security is the responsibility of all”.

The suspect will appear in court at the end of police investigation, the statement added.
