PHALGA Constituency III Moves To Recall Lawmaker

The people of Port Harcourt Local Government Constituency III of Rivers State stated their resolve to recall the lawmaker representing the area, Hon. Victor Ihunwo from the State House of Assembly over alleged gross misconduct and incompetence.

In a communiqué signed by Chief Hon. Dike Amadi, Barr. Nnamdi Nwuche, Fubara Ibika, Hon. Charles Paul and Collins Owhonda on behalf of the people of the constituency Abey that a committee had been set up to evaluate the performances of Hon. Ihunwo for the past six years he was elected into the state House of Assembly to represent the area.

According to the statement if the committee proves the allegation of gross misconduct and embezzlement of fund meant for constituency projects for the area by the lawmaker, the people would not have no option than to recall him from the House.

The statement also stated that the committee is to probe the lawmaker’s activities including contracts awarded to him.

The people in the statement further warned Ihunwo against making what they described as unguided utterances on Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.

The statement flayed Ihunwor for his comments against Governor Amaechi over flooding at Sani Abacha Road, in Port Harcourt, describing it as the greatest betrayal to the governor whose praises he has been singing in the area.

Wondering if the lawmaker had mental disorder, considering his utterances against the governor the people in the statement congratulated Governor Amaechi on his well-deserved  victory at the just-concluded Nigeria Governors Forum election, saying that, the victory was a victory for all Nigerians.

The people further condemned in its entirely the suspension of Governor Amaechi from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) insisting that the suspension was not in accordance with the provisions of the PDP constitution.

“Many of us have PDP Constitution, and we read through it. There is no section that said that a serving Governor of a state should be suspended from the party without congent reasons, they noted.

The people called on Governor Amaechi not to be distracted by those described as agents of darkness in the state.
