Police Arrest Monarch’s Son, For Kidnapping, Robbery
The Special Ambush Squad of Imo State Police Command and their Anambra State counterparts have arrested Prince Simeon Iguegbe, son of Eze Basil Iguegbe, paramount ruler of Ogbobu Autonomous Community in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State and two other suspects for kidnapping and armed robbery.
The arrest was made known to newsmen by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Muhammed Musa Katsina at the residence of the arrested suspects.
According to the commissioner of police, the other two suspects arrested include Sunday Ikechukwu Okparaeke (aka Nwamama) of Akunwata village in Arondizuogu, Onuimo Local Government and Kingsley Henshaw of Ndiakaeme Arondizuogu in Okigwe Local Government of the state.
The police chief said that while Prince Simeon Iguegbe is 38 years, the ring leader, Henshaw and Sunday Ikechukwu Okparaeke were 36 and 34 years, respectively.
Musa expressed worry over the poor educational qualification of the arrested “trio” which stood as First School Leaving Certificate as at the time of their arrest, saying that they have no serious means of livelihood.
Major items recovered from them include, Toyota Corolla, Nissan Maxima, Toyota 4-Runner, Toyota Rav4 and two vehicles without a “known make” kept at Umuahia.
The police commissioner, who described the offence of armed robbery and kidnapping as conspiratorial, admitted that the law would catch up with anybody found in such a circle of conspiracy.
The arrested three suspected kidnappers confessed to the crime during a chat with newsmen.
