Togo Raises1.5bn FCFA For Q- Finals

The fund-raising committee for Togo’s participation in the ongoing African Cup of Nations in South Africa, says it has collected 1.5 billion FCFA for the national team.

The team is on the verge of qualifying for the quarter finals of the tournament.

According to committee Chairman, Etienne Bafay, 1.5 billion FCFA of the targeted five billion FCFA had been received from voluntary donations, special contributions and the official government donation of 800 million FCFA.

During the tournament, a participation allowance of 10 million FCFA will go to each player, four million FCFA for each match won, 10 million FCFA per player if the team reaches the quarter finals, 15 million FCFA for the semi finals and 40 million for the final.

Togo’s Sparrows, which are in Group D, played on Wednesday against Tunisia as part of the last group matches.
