Three Christ Embassy Members Die In Auto Crash

An automobile accident has claimed the lives of three members of Christ Embassy Church at Igbo Etche in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The Tide learnt that the incident, involved a middle aged woman and two young men.

According to eyewitness account, the victims were returning from a communion service at Igboh Village when the motorcycle which was carrying them rammed into a vehicle coming from Eleme Junction.

The account also said that the victims, who were four, were immediately rushed to the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital, all in Port Harcourt, where they were rejected.

They were later taken to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) where the woman and the two young men died, while the fourth who was in critical condition is currently receiving treatment.

Meanwhile, relations of some of the victims have expressed concern over the alleged rejection of their victims at BMSH

One of them, who spoke to The Tide under condition of anonymity, complained that the victims could have been saved if they were not rejected by the hospital.

According to him, the victims died on their way while being rushed to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) after they had been rejected by BMSH.

Reacting to the complaint,. Chief Medical Director of Braithwaite Memorial Hospital, Dr Ijuye Olukunmi said that she was not aware that the victims were rejected in the hospital, and promised to confirm the incident from the accident ward of the  hospital.
