Maku Reassures On Provision Of Stable Electricity
The
Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, has assured Nigerians that President
Goodluck Jonathan will give Nigerians stable electricity before he leave
office.
Maku
gave the assurance at the NNPC Depot, Osisioma, near Aba, Abia, during the good
governance tour of projects in Abia on Friday.
He
said that the federal government was building 10 new power plants across the
country.
The
minister, who described Aba as one of the industrial centres in Nigeria, noted
that electricity has been the major problems of the commercial city.
Maku
said that the Port Harcourt –Aba-Maiduguri railway would soon be restored,
adding that the contract for the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway would be
re-awarded.
The
deputy governor of Abia, Mr. Emeka Ananaba, commended the federal government
for the partnership with the state to develop the area.
He
said that peace and security was thriving in the state because the federal
government supported the state with adequate manpower.
