Anambra Earmarks N3.6bn For Roads

Anambra  State Government  said it would spend N3.6 billion this year on road construction.

The state Commissioner for Information, Mr JoeMartins Uzodike  who disclosed this Tuesday said the amount would be spent on the construction of roads in parts of the state.

The roads include Okpuno Umuenem street, Otolo Nnewi–Nkolofia-Awka-Etiti road, St.Thomas Church Egbu Orizu junction-Egbu Umuenem Otolo and Okpu–Agulu police post junction- Afor Adazi Nnukwu.

Others are Union Primary school-Adazi-Nnobi road junction, Adazi-Nnukwu, Oye Neni-Akwaeze-Igboukwu road, Oye-Abagana-Ukpo–Abba junction to Enugu/Onitsha express way and Esther Obiakor dual carriage road Awka.

He said that contract for landscaping at the post Primary Schools Service Commission (PPSSC) headquarters was approved and Amawbia by-pass, Awka–South Local Government Area.

He said that drainages and refuge dumps would be cleared within one week, and warned that   If they are  filled up again the residents would be held responsible.
