2013 AFCON: Goldashe Drums Support For Super Eagles … Offers Club House For TV Viewers
With couple of days to the kick off of the 29th Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, soccer enthusiast and President of Goldashe United All Stars Football club of Port Harcourt, Mr. Fubara Kingsley Hart has pledged to throw the gate of the recreational outfit open to members of the public to avail them the opportunity of watching the Super Eagles matches live on television.
According to him, the gesture which is aimed at rallying support for the nation’s flag bearers, will also serve as leverage for teeming fans who may not afford the exorbitant fees charged by public viewing centres.
The Goldashe administrator who disclosed these in a chat with sports writers in Port Harcourt last weekend, expressed satisfaction with the final list of players released by Coach Stephen Keshi ahead of the tournament, urging them not to let the nation down amidst expectations.
The club house which is located inside the premises of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt has the capacity to sit over one hundred and fifty persons, and lurked in a serene environment adjacent to the training pitch, according to the club’s President.
Mr. Fubara Kingsley Hart, also the Director of Finance and Administration, Government House, Port Harcourt averred that Goldashe All Stars identifies with the intense love and passion millions of Nigerians share for football and the team’s aspiration to make the country proud at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations outing.
He disclosed that the gates would only be opened to the public on the days Super Eagles play its preliminary matches, namely, 21st, 25th and 29th January, 2013.
“We expect that Nigeria would make it to the quarter finals on February 3, then semi finals February 6 and possibly February 10 for the finals. Should this becomes the outcome, then our gates will stay open to fan and supporters on those dates” Hart declared.
