PH Referees Take On Coaches In Friendly …Honours RSNC GM, Others

The Port Harcourt football Referees Society in Rivers State will tomorrow engage their Coaches counterpeit in a friendly football match at the Liberation stadium.

According to the Chairman of the referees Society, Mr. Dennis Deima, the match is part of activities to mark the 2012 end of year celebrations of the body.

Already, there has been talks of fireworks during the game with both bodies boasting to carry the day.

But beyond the verbal exchanges, it is expected that football fans would be treated to high level of football Spectacle by the teachers and umpires of the game.

As part of activities of the day, the society is scheduled to recognise and honour some personalities for their outstanding contributions to the game and the body in the state and beyond.

Some of the awardees include veteran Sports Newspaper Corporation, Mr. Celestine Ogolo, Member of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Barrister Christopher Green, member of Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Aye Atama Pepple and Veteran referee and vice Chairman of Rivers State football Association, Chief H.I Omineokuma-Kile.

Meanwhile, in a similar development, the Rivers State football coaches Association on Monday Marked its end of year ceremony with a freiendly football match with members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Rivers State Chapter. In the highly entertaining match, both teams ended the encounter with a 1-1 draw scoreline at the practising pitch of the Liberation Stadium .
