AFCON Qualifier: NFA Worries Over Liberia’s Antics
The Nigeria Football Association (NFA) yesterday in Abuja
expressed worry over the attitude of its Liberian counterparts on the itinerary
of the Lone Star for the weekend qualifier.
“The Liberia Football Association has continued to maintain
secrecy over their team’s arrival date for Saturday’s match against the Super
Eagles in Calabar,’’ NFA’s General Secretary, Musa Amadu, told newsmen.
Nigeria are hosting Liberia on Saturday in a 2013 Nations
Cup final qualifying round second leg match.
Nigeria drew the first leg 2-2 in Monrovia on September 8.
“We really don’t know what they (Liberia) are up to. They
have not communicated their arrival date to us.
“However, we have chosen not to be bothered about that,’’
Amadu added.
He said the NFA would rather concern itself with preparing
its team optimally to achieve victory.
“Whenever the Liberia delegation arrives, we will be ready
for them,” the secretary said.
The Eagles are currently camping in Calabar, putting
finishing touches to preparations for the match.
