Obi Assures On Collaboration With Churches

Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State says his administration will continue to collaborate with the Church in the drive to achieve the collective goals of the state.

Obi said this on Saturday at a civic reception organised by the Knights of St. John International, St. Patrick’s Commandery 434 and Our Lady of Perpetual Succour LAUX 363, Awka , , in honour of Chief Godfrey Muotolu and Dr Justina Ifeorah.

Represented by the state’s Commissioner for Works, Mr Calistus Ilozumba, Obi said that his government collaborating with the Church toward developing the education and health sectors.

The governor urged the Church to recognise and appreciate only those who distinguished themselves through hard work and moral values, saying that it would engender good behaviour in children.

He maintained that Muotolu and Ifeorah were good examples of those who had demonstrated such values while serving God and humanity.

Also speaking, Capt. Raphael Okafor, the President of the Knight of St. John, Commandery 434, Awka, explained that the event was organised to commend Muotolu and Ifeorah for their meritorious service to the knighthood.

Muotolu was the immediate past president of Commandery 434 while Ifeorah was the immediate past president of Commandery 363.

Responding on their behalf, Muotolu, who is also the Special Adviser to Obi on Local Government Matters, commended the organisers for the gesture and promised that they would continue to render services to their organisations.
