Dickson Cautions Petroleum Marketers Against Cheating
The Bayelsa State Government, has reconstituted its Petroleum Monitoring taskforce with a warning to marketers of the Products in the state to desist from exploiting the people through their involvement in unwholesome practices.
Governor Seriake Dickson gave the warning last week while inaugurating the Task Force in Government House, Yenagoa.
The Governor who condemned in strong terms, the activities of petroleum products marketers in the state, said government was aware of such activities as diversion, hiking of prices and adulteration of the products.
He noted that government had received complaints from the people, stressing that concerted efforts would be made to ensure that the people of Bayelsa had access to quality petroleum products and at the stipulated pump prices.
Governor Dickson charged members of the task force not to compromise in the discharge of their duties and urged them to meet the expectations of government and the people in checking the excesses of marketers of petroleum products across the state.
The Governor, who expressed optimism that the inauguration of the task force would check exorbitant prices of the products and other unscrupulous activities, assured that government would support it to function effectively.
He urged the members to apply themselves to the task ahead of them and protect the interest of the people.
Responding, Chairman of the Petroleum Products Monitoring Task Force, Mr. Benjamin Abrakasa assured Governor Dickson that members would work hard not to betray the confidence reposed in them.
