A cleric, Venerable Paul Enweonwu, has enjoined Nigerians to always live exemplary lives of peace and humility in order to attract divine favour from God.

Enweonwu said this while delivering a homily at the burial of Sir Conrad Bosah (66), former Chief Press Secretary to Anambra State Government and a veteran journalist in Onitsha, recently.

He said that the virtue of humility was fast being eroded in the society; adding, “God and even men always work with those that are humble and are willing to learn or be led.’’

“What do we see today; a society that has lost focus of the blessings and favour inherent in one being humble and stooping down for others and God.

“Many take decisions without minding that they are not and would never be God; while they fail to understand that God searches the heart and always exalt the humble,’’ he said.

He urged everyone to return to God by following and doing  according to His commandmants.

Enweonwu, who is the Archdeacon of Inland Town Anglican Arch-Deaconry in Onitsha, said that the deceased was a man who loved peace and fought to bring peace within Onitsha community.

“He lived for others and welfare, that is why thousands gather here today. A man of rare humble attribute throughout his lifetime,’’ he said.

Speaking earlier, Mr Victor Bosah, the younger brother to the deceased, said that his late brother was a father to the whole family and worked hard to see that each member of the family went to school.

“He is a shining light among us and someone who cares about other people’s welfare,’’ he noted.

Former South-East Zonal Manager of the News Agency of Nigeria, Mr Tony Nezianya, described the deceased as a good family man and somebody that promoted the oneness of Onitsha people everywhere he went.

“He had been a rallying point for our people and someone that will not only guide you but be in the forefront of seeing that the right thing is done on any issue,’’ Nezianya said.
