Security Man In Court For Stabbing Tenant

An 18-year-old security man, Ken Kelly, on
Tuesday appeared before an Asaba Magistrates’ Court charged with stabbing a
tenant with a knife.

The Police Prosecutor, Mr Augustine Otubu,
told the court that, the accused committed the offence on April 26, at No. 18,
Ezezere Street, Asaba.

Otubu also told the court that, the
accused, on the same day and place, allegedly assaulted one Joseph Ime by
stabbing him with a knife on his back, which caused him body harm.

According to him, this offence is
punishable under section 355 of the Criminal Code Cap C21 Vol. 1, Law of Delta,
State, 2006.

The accused, who however, pleaded not
guilty to the one-count charge, was granted bail in the sum of N50,000, and a
surety in like sum by the Magistrate, Miss Patricia Okoh.

Okoh ordered that the surety should reside
within Asaba, provide proof of ownership of landed property within Asaba,
provide two passport-sized photographs and swear to affidavit of means.
