NUPPPPROW Elects New Officers

The National Union of Printing, Publishing and Paper
Products Workers (NUPPPPROW), has ended its 2nd triennial delegates conference
in the state with the election of new officers.

The union’s South-South Zonal  Chairman,
Comrade Pastor John O. Ushie urged members of the union to be committed
and dedicated to their responsibilities at their places of primary assignments.

He said the union would appeal to the state government for
support in the area of training of its members.

Comrade Ushie expressed happiness with the members for the
new spirit of unification and oneness, urging them to avoid a situation that
would lead to other unions poaching members of the union.

The 2nd triennial delegates conference ended with the
election of the following officers: Comrade Abraham Amesi,  chairman, Comrade Prince Daminabo, vice
chairman, Comrade Ken Donatus, secretary, Comrade Daba Awub,  assistant secretary and Comrade Patience  Owiriwa, treasurer.

In his post election speech, Comrade Abraham Amesi promised
to work for the interest of the union, stressing that good days were ahead of
the union in the state and its members.

The 2nd triennial delegates conference was attended by the
Commissioner for Information and Communications,  Mrs Ibim Semenitari, former General Manager
of  Rivers State Newspaper Corporation
(RSNC), now Director, Government Printing Press, Mr Augustine Nwikinaka and
other union leaders in the state.
