NUJ, Varsity To Hold Media Summit
Arrangements have been concluded by the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), in collaboration with Gregory University, Uturu, Abia State to organise a one-day maiden South East Media Summit.
The theme of the summit which comes up on May 3, this year is “Challenges of Media Ownership /Development and Good Governance: South East Experience”.
Disclosing this Saturday while addressing newsmen at the Enugu Press Centre, the NUJ South East Vice President (VP), Sir Ambrose Nwachukwu, said the summit would be held under the distinguished chairmanship of Ambassador Ojo Maduekwe, while Secretary to the government of the Federation and former senate president, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim,would be one of the chief guests of honour.
In the same vein, the Abia state governor, Chief T.A. Orji, would be special guest of honour, while governors of Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states would also be guests of honour at the occasion.
According to the NUJ South East VP, Professor Kate Omenugha,who is the Head, Department of Mass Communications, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State would serve as the guest lecturer at the summit expected to attract distinguished personalities within and out side the South East geo- political zone.
