Rivers Angels, Bayelsa Queens Clash At Liberation Stadium
The Port Harcourt Liberation Stadium, would be the centre stage for women football lovers as Rivers Angels FC kicks off the 2012 Women Football League Season with a home tie against arch rival, Bayelsa Queens FC, this weekend.
The match which is expected to be a thriller would no doubt put the visitors in a tight corner as the homers are determined to take the three maximum points at stake in the encounter.
Rivers Angels, who have prepared adequately for the new season are in high spirit as they are poised to begin the season on a good note.
According to the Assistant Coach of the Angels, Whyte Ogbodah, the team has all it takes to achieve an outright victory against the Queens, saying that, the Angels have worked hard and are now set to reap the fruit of their labour.
“The team’s target this season remains the double, the FA Cup and the league title, which we promised to defend and win this year and that we must achieve”, the coach pledged.
On the other hand the visitors would put up a good fight to stop the Angels from actualising their immediate dream this weekend.
Bayelsa Queens are expected to prove their worth because they would do everything to frustrate the homers and try to grab something, at least share the points with their hosts.
