CPC Candidate Pledges Free Education, Health In Bayelsa

The Bayelsa State Governorship Candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in February 11  election, Mr Famous Daunemigha says when voted into office, he will focus on three sectors of education, health and agriculture.

Mr Daunemigha who stated this during an interactive session he had with members of the Federated Correspondents Chapel (FCC) of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Bayelsa State chapter on Thursday said education sector had for long been in shambles and therefore will top his agenda of bringing positive changes to the state.

In doing this he will revolutionise agriculture to make the sector the driving force, by giving soft loans to community based fishermen and farmers to produce enough for exports, and the proceeds thereof would be used to finance education.

“There will be free health care and free education at all levels with an enhanced and improved infrastructure put in place’’, contending that education will not only be free at both primary and secondary levels, books will also be provided.

Daunemigha who said he would not live in Government House but operate from his personal residence where he could grasp with the feelings of the masses, assured that resources would be used to provide other infrastructures such as roads and health centres.

The CPC gubernatorial candidate who challenged, his colleagues in the race to open debate on how best to govern the state, however, stated that he will introduce state amnesty to take care of numerous jobless youths in the state.

“It is when you have planned for the youths, provide the alternatives through well articulated skill acquisition programmes for them; that  you can divert their attentions from crime’’.

Emphasising that passion to rule is paramount, and promised to keep his bargains with the rural folks of the state who  are ready to vote for him, stressing that it is left for Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be unbiased umpire  in the exercise.

He regretted that some INEC officials lacked integrity to conduct fair and free election in the state, and urged the national electoral body to make changes before the exercise properly.
