CRBN Tasks Inductees On Building Collapse Control
The council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CRBN) has urged newly inducted members of the council to brace up for the challenge of tackling the menace of building collapse that has bedeviled the building industry for some time now.
Speaking during the induction of new members at the weekend in Abuja, the CRBN national president, Professor Akin Akinyemi said that time has come for members to take serious steps to address or tackle the problem of building collapse in Nigeria.
He tasked the inductees to evolve new strategies of confronting the building collapse challenge, pointing out that such is required because, the menace had thrown a big challenge to the credibility of building experts and demands urgent action plan to tackle.
The CRBN president also cautioned the newly inducted members to shun any form of monetary inducement that will make them not to perform their duties creditably, and also warned that the council will not hesitate to sanction any member that dents the image of the council.
Professor Akinyemi also stated that time has come when the council will no more be frightened by the mistake of the past, stressing that it is time to look forward to greater achievements and as well build the body more strongly.
Over 200 new members were inducted at the ceremony, which witnessed the attendance of continent personalities in the building industry across the country.
