Ex-youth International and former Sharks FC of Port Harcourt defence strongman, Micheal Igbeka is mourning the demise of his father, Chief George Ojei Igbaka.

The 98 year old late Chief Igbaka was instrumental to the successful football career of the defender which saw him play for sharks FC, Asabatex, Pan Bank Plc and Elkanemi FCS in Nigeria before leaving for the United States of America.

Micheal, who is fondly known and called Micky the strongman, while speaking to Tidesports in Port Harcourt said that his father’s death would motivate him to encourage yungstars to take football seriously just as his father did, and give back to the society some of his benefits from the game.

Commenting on the state of Nigeria Senior National teams Super Eagles, the ex-international lamented the prostrate nature of the National teams but expressed confidence that coach Stephen Keshi would succeed in turning around the fortunes of the Super Eagles.

According to him, :Keshi has the pedigree to return the country to the purinade of the game in Africa and the world.

“Nigeria is blessed with potentials in football and needs a committed leader to harness them and put the country on the right path to greatness.
