Former Assistant Coach of the Super Falcons of Nigeria, Joy Nnena Etim, has urged Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to consider experience and qualification in appointment of the head coach for the team.

Etim who made the call while fielding answers in a Silverbird Television Programme microfarad in Port Harcourt picked holes in the ex-internationals who have indicated interest to coach the Falcons.

According to her some of those applying for the job are of the same age with the Falcons players.

They (NFF) should not pick any coach based on their playing pedigree but should consider experience and qualification of such coach. What matters in coaching is the experience and achievement of the coach”, Etim emphasised.

She also advised that the NFF should ensure that free hand is given to who ever is appointed as Falcons coach.

“Super falcons coach should also be allowed to pick their assistant like the Super Eagles, Coaches who are been given freedom to pick their assistants. They should allow them pick assistants that can deliver”, she noted.

Coach Etim further said that a woman would be the best bet for the falcons job.

“There are lots of things needed in coaching. It does not end on the field of play, NFF should pick a motherly figure, some one that understands the girls. Left to me Eucharia is Okay if she can be given a second chance.

I am also capable. Afterall, during Mabo and Okpodu we won gold. It is not about coming from Europe”, she said.
