RSG Harps On Practical Exposure For Pupils

The Rivers State government  has reiterated its determination to furnish pupils of public primary schools in the state with practical exposures outside  the confines of their classrooms.

The Commissioner for Education, Dame Alice Lawrence Nemi, stated this when the pupils of State Primary  School Rumuomasi, visited her as part of activities to mark the Holiday Educational Tours  for state primary schools in her office in Port Harcourt, Wednesday.

Dame Alice Nemi, explained that the exposure of students to practical learning situations would  greatly enhance  their capacity and reinforce their functionality in a greatly diversified economy.

She added that their practical learning experience which they will acquire in the holiday tour would be invaluable and refreshing as the pupils on excursion would visit places that would engage their minds positively.

The commissioner advised the pupils to take their study serious so as to be useful members of the society  and lauded the opportunity offered the pupils, describing it as worthwhile aimed at discovering and fulfilling to the pupils.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Richard Ofuru charged the head teacher and the pupils to utilise the facilities provided by the present administration in the various schools to achieve an all-round quality education for all.

Responding, the pupils from State Primary School, Rumuomasi, expressed  gratitude to the commissioner and the permanent secretary for the opportunity in making their holiday tour a worthwhile experience.

The highlight of the visit  was a question and answer and facility-guided tour to the office of the permanent secretary, inspectorate department, public  relations unit of the ministry, among others.
