PDP Publicity Secretary, Others Defect To CAN
The Edo PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr Nosa Adams, was among politicians who at the weekend in Benin dumped their parties and declared for the ACN.
Others who defected to the party were Mr Adams Aliyu of the Labour Party; Mrs Grace Esemuede, the PDP Women Leader in Uhunmwode Local Government Area; and Mr Samson Abu, the Coordinator of the Sen. Daisy Danjuma Campaign Organisation, among others.
Adams, who joined the ACN with his supporters, apologised to Gov. Adams Oshiomhole for the bad things he said about him “knowingly and unknowingly’’.
“I am sure and I believe sincerely that wool was probably put across my eyes and a needle was used to close my ears. I didn’t see the monumental development and I didn’t believe or hear of the unprecedented advancement to the cause of the people of Edo,’’ the former PDP scribe said.
“Now, I know better, now I see better, now I hear better. My very amiable, distinguished, fearless, courageous, erudite and bold Comrade Governor of Edo, I apologise.’’
Adams said he and his supporters were not joining the ACN To struggle for anything, or to create any crisis but to join the train of the progressives.
Oshiomhole, who received the defectors, commended them for summoning courage to “march out of prison into the house of freedom”.
He assured the new members that they would be accorded all the rights and privileges of ACN members.
