Diette-Spiff Wants Drug Rehabilitation Centres Nationwide
The first Military Administrator of the Old Rivers State and Amanyanabo of Twon Brass HRM King Alfred Diette-Spiff has called for the establishment of Drug Rehabilitation Centres in the country.
King Spiff who said this during a courtesy call on the Rivers state Commandant of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Port Harcourt said that those who are into drugs need to be rehabilitated before being sent to court for trial.
He also stressed the need for the Federal Government to ensure that all former militants are certified drug free.
The King also stressed the need for Nigerians to give their full support to the Agency to end the menace of drug abuse in the country.
He contended that the war against the incidence of drug abuse must not be left to the NDLEA alone stressing that it requires the support of all Nigerians.
King Diette-Spiff also used the occasion to present a carton of Cytolux, a drug which he said can be useful in the rehabilitation process to the commandant.
He also said that the drug can be used to cure other ailments as it helps to boast patients immunity.
The State Commandant of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Mr. Jude Ekure thanked the King for the visit, stressing that the agency is not only into drug supply and control reduction, but also into drug demand reduction.
Mr. Ekure also stressed the need for the support of the state government to check the menace of drug abuse in the state.
