Siasia, Odemwingie Yet To Settle Rift

Super Eagles coach,  Samson Siasia, has said that he was yet to hear from striker Osaze Odemwingie, who was left out of the national team for this month’s games against Argentina and Ethiopia.

Odemwingie was suspended from the team after leaving the Nigeria camp without permission from the coach, and Siasia said as he was yet to receive an apology from the player, he would not be talking any further about it.

“I don’t want to talk about the Odemwingie issue any more. I don’t see it as a personal case,” Siasia said last Thursday after a meeting with the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF’s Technical Committee.

“It is very simple, he has not apologised to me; he has not apologised to the team or even the FA for what he did. It is not about an individual; rather it is all about the team, so I believe he knows what to do if he wants to be part of the team.”

Both men were expected to be part of the Testimonial match for former Nigeria’s captain, Nwankwo Kanu which was played on Saturday in Lagos.
