The elders of the All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) in Rivers State have removed the state chairman of the party, Mr. Julius Nwafor.
This was made known to newsmen in the state by the elders council of the party.
The statement stated that the former chairman was removed for allegedly imposing a governorship candidate on the party in the state without due consultation of the party elders and stakeholders.
The spokesman of the elders, Mr. Sunny Dike said the elders took the decision to remove the former chairman, Mr. Nwafor for allegedly not complying with the process of electing the party governorship candidate in the state.
Dike listed other reasons to include anti-party activities and called on the national Vice Chairman, South-South to communicate the decision to the National Executives as well as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Meanwhile, the elders have adopted the decision of the State executive committee headed by the State Deputy Chairman, the recommendation of Senibo Adaye to take over as the acting chairman of the party in the state.
